I høst får vi besøk av argentinske Sebastian de la Vallina, som kommer fra Roma til Stavanger 18. – 20. oktober.

Sebastian de la Vallina har en fantastisk evne til å gjøre det enkle vakkert. Han gir kursdeltakerne en forståelse av grunntanken og grunnholdningen i tango. Dette er et møte med dans, med musikalitet og selve tangoens sjel, med sin lidenskap og sitt spill. Med Sebastian går man ikke rundt på gulvet. Man danser- selv etter de første timene. Han klarer å gjøre dansen mandig for menn, og feminin for kvinnene. Han klarer å gi helt nye dansere en opplevelse av å danse, av musikk, av det som er vakkert med tango.
Han tilbyr et enormt spennende program for STV, hvor vi vil bli introdusert for og kjent med de la Vallina og hans måte å undervise på, gjennom hans helt unike helgeseminar, som han beskriver slik:
"The tango family"
The culture of tango is infinitely rich; be it its music, its dance or its poetry. And I see it as a family, where among its components there are many similarities and great differences.
This seminar of six workshops tries to “unite” the ties that exist between the most important musical manifestations and how they can influence and stimulate our dance inspiration

Fredag 18. oktober
18.00 - 19.30 WS1 - The Milonga: The Grandmother
Of the rhythms we dance, this is the oldest (that's why it's the grandmother). In this course we will study the typical "rebote" of the milonga, with some of the movements that characterize this dance, and the differences and similarities with the tango.

Lørdag 19. oktober
12.30 - 14.00 WS2 -Guardia vieja: The Parents.
In this course we will go into the first movements that existed in history (many of those we still do). We will refine the contact with the ground and play with different body postures. We aim at not only knowing how it developed in those times, but also to inspire the search for your own posture.
14.15-16.15 WS3 - Di Sarli and D´Arienzo: The eldest son and the youngest son
The musical stimulus of these two fundamental orchestras will help us understand the fundamental movements of the tango. In particular, the contrast between the “legato” quality of di Sarli and the “staccato” of D’Arienzo. We will also see the most appropriate figures for each style.
16.45-18.45 WS 4 - Pugliese: The middle child
The “middle child” thing is a joke… Pugliese was a revolutionary and that drives us to another type of tango, especially in its dynamic changes. We will study how to organize the body and the couple to be able to enter into the magic of his music.
På kvelden blir det festmilonga på Gausel bydelshus kl 20.00 - 23.00 (NB! Merk stedet!). DJ Martín.
Søndag 20. oktober
12.00 -13.30 WS5 - Waltz: The adopted daughter
Let's turn!... let's pivot! It is known that the waltz is a Central European dance. Immigration brought it to Buenos Aires and it was adopted into the tango family. Twists, spirals and turns will be the study material of this course.
13.45-15.45 WS6 -Troilo: The favourite son
Many of the figures and movements we perform today were born in the musical environment of Aníbal Troilo. In this course we will use almost all the elements studied in the other courses.

For å få utbytte av disse kursene, må deltagerne beherskegrunnleggende teknikker. Dvs. at de som minimum må ha tatt nybegynnerkurs og føleseg komfortable med de elementene de har lært der.

Sebastian de la Vallina
Maestro Sebastian dela Vallina teaches with passion and precision. His specialty is in making people understand how to absorb music into the body, using short and effective explanations. And above all ... the expression of his body.
In his teaching he has a very good balance between the traditional (which he acquired from his childhood) and modern concepts, of which he was part in the movements of the late 90s.
Sebastian works with depth and humor. He is demanding and kind.
He studied tango with many milongueros and dancers from Rosario and Buenos Aires, as well as contemporary dance, alignment, dance-contact, Feldenkreis and Tai-chi. His classes are based on these studies, the body as a tool, the tango codes and the musical sensibility. He has made 21 tours in Europe.
In his classes, the values of emotion and musicality are mixed with the precision and technical demands of tango.
